6/9 Riding inland

We rode less today- 41.75 miles in 3 hours 59 minutes- because we had a fairly strong headwind part of the way and wanted to go easy on Daria's knees just in case. We stopped in Fludir to spend the night, and will push on to the Gulfoss waterfall and beyond tomorrow. As we rode farther from the coast, the terrain became less rocky, and more pastoral and green. Mount Hekla, an active volcano, was visible for much of the ride off to the east. It was snow-capped and conical, but too distant and hazy for a good picture. The picture here is my bike as we passed this rocky hill going into Selfoss.

Hi Nick

I would love to be back in Iceland. There are trees just not too tall.
