Stykkisholmer on our rest day 6/13
Stykkisholmer is pretty, with nice views out into the fjord and a wild outer space church. It seems to do booming tourist business later in the season, in part as the launch point for the ferry to the west fjords. Many of the houses are old, including the Norwegian house, the first house made of wood in Iceland, imported from Norway. Even so, it was only ~150 years old. Most houses in Iceland seem to be prefab, with corrugated metal siding.
