Sometimes it's sunny in Iceland

Reykjanes peninsula, as we began to bike on day 1. We got a late start with the jet lag and figuring out how these bikes work, but it was very pretty. We did 65.5 miles in 5 hours 49 minutes, riding from Njardvik through Grindavik and Thorlakshofn, then up to Hveragerdi where we are camping. There was one giant hill (which I made it up, in the granny gear), some long, shallow grades, but lots of flat. We didn't see a tree at all for the first 40 miles or so- just miss covered lava and broken chunks of rock.
